AP 474 - A Syriac Melody that did not survive in Malayalam

This is the Onyatha d’Sahde for Wednesday Ramsha. Like the others in this group, each onitha comes with a shuraya and has four lines in each stanza. Unlike some other melodies, however, this one does not seem to survive in Malayalam practice, and the hymn has not been translated into Malayalam.......

Christian Musicological Society of India is an international forum for interdisciplinary research, discussion, and dissemination of knowledge, on the music, art and dance of about thirty million Christians in India, who belong to a diverse set of communities and linguistic groups and follow a variety of liturgical traditions some of which date back to the early Christian era.
