Probus Perumalil held several administrative responsibilities and posts within the congregation. A loving and caring religious with paternal care for the subordinates, he led a model of religious life for others to emulate. Soon after his priestly ordination, he was assigned at Karikkamury and KaruKutty ashrams. Later he served as prior at Karikkattoor, Mannanam, and Chethipuzha ashrams. At Punnapra and Netta, he was superior. Vice-postulator for the canonization of St. Chavara, regional superior for Kanyakumari, vicar provincial of Trivandrum Province, provincial councilor of undivided St. Joseph’s Province, and general finance councilor, were some of the responsibilities handled by him. He contributed greatly for the development of Wardha, Kainakary and Pariyaram centres under the Generalate. While leading a retired life at Mannanam, he passed away in 2009, and was buried there.
