Malayalam translation of Psitha Bible

PART - VI Rev. Dr. Paul Maniyattu in conversation with Fr. Joseph Palackal,CMI. At Paurastya Vidyapitam, vadavathoor, kottayam on 27 July 2023
The Paurasthya Vidya Pitham is working on a Malayalam translation of the Psitha Bible under the leadership of Dr. Pauly Maniyattu. This translation will be qualitatively different from other existing translations which rely more on the Greek source. Dr. Maniyattu cites a few examples of semantic differences that underscore deep theological differences in comparison to other translations. The Psita Bible is an entry into the Aramaic way of thinking. For that reason, this translation will be a contribution to the Christian world. We are grateful to Dr. Maniyattu for sharing his insights.

  • ItAnother example of difference..."Camel passing through the needle"...the actual peshitta has the word as Gamla which means a big rope, which seems to be what actually Jesus meant. - @star_ofthe_sea3015 -December 2023
